WVU Extension Service – Roane County

Progressive Farmer Dinner Meetings are held annually throughout January, February and March. Selected topics focus on educating farmers and landowners about progressive agricultural practices to improve agricultural management or marketing strategies. Meetings are open to all interested persons regardless of residency and a light meal will be provided to all participants.
The 2013 series of Progressive Farmer Dinner Meetings have been scheduled. Meetings will be held on Monday or Tuesday evenings and will begin promptly at 6:30 PM. Meeting locations will vary so please take note when planning to attend. Pre-registration is encouraged to insure that we provide enough food for all participants. To pre-register or obtain more information, please call the WVU Roane Extension Service at 304-927-0975.

January 29: Cattle Selection

Roane-Jackson Technical Center, Leroy, WV, 6:30 PM

Virginia Farmer, Bill Tucker, will be the featured speaker.

February 26: Amazing Grazing

Roane County High School Vo-Ag Department, 6:30 PM

Matt Poore, North Carolina Extension Beef Specialist, will be the featured speaker.

March 18: Farm Transitioning and Succession Planning

Roane County High School Vo-Ag Department, 6:30 PM

Jesse Richardson, Jr. JD, will be the featured speaker.
